Birmingham Violence Against Women Board and Birmingham Safeguarding Children Board each run multi-agency domestic violence training and workshops throughout the year. Birmingham Violence Against Women Board have once again put together a programme of training for practitioners, delivered by Birmingham & Solihull Women’s Aid, open to practitioners working in Birmingham - statutory or voluntary sectors.

Women’s Aid has developed the first accredited training on effective responses to domestic and sexual violence/abuse, which leads to an OCN qualification at either Level 2 or 3 (equivalent to GCSE and A Level respectively).
The course days for Part 1 are 8, 9, 10 June, 6 & 7 July, 7 & 8 September, 12 & 13 October at the Britannia Hotel, Birmingham. The booking form can be downloaded from here

The Sexual Health Promotion Service, part of Heart of Birmingham (Teaching) PCT, provides training to build professional knowledge and skills in a range of contemporary sexual health issues. The courses are free of charge and open to anyone working in Birmingham with a professional interest in sexual health (since the courses have been designed for professionals, they are not intended for members of the public or for service users).

Birmingham Drug Alcohol Action Team, has commissioned Alcohol Concern, the
national agency on alcohol misuse, to deliver Identification and Brief Advice
training in
the Birmingham area. This evidence-based course will help you to confidently
identify
and direct a problem drinker to help.
